I. From the Executive Board

This month, we are once again introducing two members of the Munich team's executive committee.

This time: Chris-Tina (right in the photo) and Robert

Hello, I am Chris-Tina, pronouns: she/her, 53 years old and a graduate in business administration with a focus on logistics. I have been with Team München Yoga since 2018 and have also tried standard dance and Argentine tango. Outside of the club, I enjoy kayaking.

Three years ago, I became a substitute member of the board, and last year I was elected to the board. I am the secretary of the association and organise Team Munich's information stands at various events. This year, I also recruited and organised the CSD stewards, and I am a member of various Team Munich working groups. I am always delighted when an association event is a success, working together as a team!

In addition to representing general queer interests in sport, as a trans woman myself, I would like to campaign specifically for the interests of trans people. I enjoy helping to shape and organise things, and it would be wonderful to make the world a better place, regardless of who, what, how, where people are from or what they look like. I know that might be a bit naive... More togetherness, more teamwork! And Team Munich offers me a really good starting point for that.

My name is Robert Lingauer, I am 36 years old and have been a member of Team Munich since 2016, where I actively play in the men's football division (Streetboys).

In 2021, I was elected to the board for the first time, initially as a substitute board member. For around two years now, I have been responsible for the association's finances as treasurer. In this role, I take care of budget planning, coordinate the division budgets and am the contact person for the division managers when it comes to financial questions.

A particular highlight for me is the annual Euro Games or Gay Games, which I have had the privilege of participating in in Paris, Bern, Vienna, Copenhagen and Lyon, among other places. I am already looking forward to next year's games in Valencia. I am motivated to make the club future-proof, strengthen the community and help ensure that Team Munich remains attractive to athletes.

II. Handball

The new season finally began for the handball players in October!

After the handball tournament in Lyon and our test match against SVN Munich, we were eager to start the new season. On 5 October, the time had come: we played at home against HSG Munich West II. For a long time, it was a neck-and-neck race, in which the HSG players always had a slight edge and ultimately secured a 20:26 away victory.

But now it was important not to let your head hang down, because the next Sunday there was already another away match with the handball players of TS Jahn Munich II. With a well-filled bench, we played a varied game and were one point ahead at half-time. But it didn't stay that close: we turned it up again at the end, gave it our all and won clearly with a score of 19:26! A great team success, in which every outfield player scored at least one goal.

We definitely want to carry this joyful mood into the next games. Our next opponent is TSV München-Allach III on 9th of November. A home game – so we look forward to welcoming spectators.

Do you know someone who would fit into our group? We are currently looking for new players and a new coach. For more information about us, training times, venues and more, please visit our website. www.teammuenchen.de/handball.

III. Badminton

The league season kicked off in October with two double match days. Our teams did really well!

Munich Team I has won three times (against LV Lohhof III, TSV Ebersberg and TSV Neubiberg-Ottobrunn III), lost only to the current leaders OSC Munich II and is in second place in the district upper league table.

There were also three wins (against TuS Prien, TSV Neubiberg-Ottobrunn IV and SG Kolbermoor/Holzkirchen) and one defeat (against SG Piding/Freilassing) for Team Munich II, which also puts them in second place in the South-East District League table. Munich III team has even won all four matches (against SV München-Laim, ESV München-Freimann II, MTV München and SV 1880 München II) and is currently leading the Bezirksklasse B-Mitte league!

Our amateur team Unfortunately, the season started with a narrow defeat at FTM Schwabing.

In November, there will be two weekends of home games at our venue on Görzer Straße (see dates below). The teams would greatly appreciate your support!

IV. Rugby

On 18 October, the Munich Monks invited the teams from the Bavarian Association League to a match day at the Anton Fingerle Centre on Schlierseestraße. The Munich Monks competed in a joint team with Weilheim and Ingolstadt. In their first match, they beat the joint team of StuSta, Erlangen, Passau and Blacknblue 22:12. This was achieved through a lot of passion, but also a tremendous amount of training in the run-up to the tournament and a huge dose of team spirit.

In the second match, the Monks team faced off against the 1860, Ravensburg and Fürstenfeld Bruck team. In a very close and exciting match, they lost 7:12.

All in all, a very clean performance that can be built upon. A total of ten teams took part in the match day with three great games. The atmosphere was great both on and off the pitch, and all the teams ended the day together with beer and barbecue.

V. Bowling

The bowling division is temporarily suspending training. The reason: Isar Bowling, where Team Munich Bowling has been meeting so far, has more than doubled its fees. In addition, the new rope system also came with a new display that is mirrored on the lane so that no arrows are visible. The division management and members are now urgently looking for a solution!

VI. Volleyball

At the beginning of October, Team Munich I invited TSV Eintracht Karlsfeld to a test match in preparation for the upcoming season in the district league. Although Team Munich I was unable to field a full team, they only lost one set and won 3:1.

The upcoming season starts on 8th of November. The first opponents will be SV Lohhof III and PSV Munich. The remaining match days will take place on 15 and 22 November.

The schedule and results are available here.

VII. Streetboys Football

The Munich Streetboys team can look back on a balanced October. With two clear victories (7:1, 6:1) and two narrow defeats (0:2, 4:5) The team is currently holding its own in the middle of the C-Class 5 table, but is still in touch with the top group. Overall, performances have been consistent, even if a little more consistency in front of goal has been lacking in some games.

In the last five games of the year, the Streetboys face challenges, but also opportunities to move up a few places in the table and go into the winter break with a comfortable points cushion.

The next match will take place on 2nd of November at our own ground (BSA Engelschalking, Westpreußenstraße 60). Kick-off against FC München City is at 11 o'clock.

They represent the entire LGBTIQ* spectrum and represent the Munich community in many different ways.

The team is led by the new frontrunner Bernd Müller (centre of picture), who wants to replace Thomas Niederbühl, who is no longer standing, on the city council. Patricia Schüttler, Jule Rönitz, Sabrina Berndt and Andreas Klose follow in second to fifth place.

IX. Online seminar series on queer sport

Diversity is more than just a buzzword – it is a strength. There is great potential in club life in particular, where people from very different backgrounds, with different experiences and perspectives, come together.

Diversity promotes creativity, opens up new perspectives and strengthens cooperation. But how can it be consciously shaped and used as an asset?

At the start of the BuNT 2025 – Federal Network Conference on Queer Sports A four-part online seminar series will take place, which anyone interested can register for.

Gay Games 2030 in Perth

From 24 to 28 October, the annual general meeting of the Federation of Gay Games (FGG) took place in Valencia, where the next Gay Games will be held in June 2026. At the meeting, Perth was selected as the potential host for the 2030 Games. The Australian city narrowly defeated its only competitor, Denver (USA), after Auckland (New Zealand) withdrew from the race a few months ago due to uncertain funding for the Games.

The next step is for the agreement between the FGG and Perth to be signed by January so that the city can officially call itself the host city of the 2030 Gay Games.
