I. Street festival season opened

On 30 April, Team München took part in the „Tanz in den Mai“ street festival in Hans-Sachs-Straße with a stand. Many thanks to all the helpers who were involved in setting up and dismantling the stand and had many conversations with interested parties in between.

III. New to Team Munich: Nia

On 15 April, the time had come: the „Nia - getanzte Lebensfreude“ division was officially founded. The foundation stone has now been laid with ten wonderful fellow campaigners and a group has been formed that meets every Wednesday from 19:00 to 20:00 at Sendlinger Tor in the sports hall of the Munich Design School.

Nia is a fusion fitness concept that combines dance, martial arts and body therapy forms into a holistic experience. A space for movement, expression and genuine connection. Barefoot, dancing to music and with lots of joie de vivre, you discover what you are made of. You will feel your body more consciously, gain lightness and go home with radiant eyes. The course is suitable for all fitness levels and physical conditions. You are welcome just as you are.

Come along, try it out and feel how you feel after an hour of Nia.

IV. Volleyball

A successful weekend lies behind our volleyball division: on Sunday, 19 April, our BVV volleyball team won the BVV League relegation with strong performances. We won 3:1 against TSV Starnberg 1880, followed by a clear 3:0 victory against SF Harteck II. This means that the Class retention in the district class This was an important milestone for our team and also marked the end of the BVV season. Congratulations to all the players and the coach for the successful end to the season and lots of success and fun in the next season starting in autumn!

The focus is now on the Queer Volleyball League. Team München I already started the new season on 24 April. For Team Munich II, the season begins on 9 May, as it does for Siam Angels Munich.

Together with the coach, all three teams achieved promotion to their respective level last season. The motivation to prove themselves and develop further in the Queer League is correspondingly high.

V. Handball

Things got a little quieter for the handball players in April. The season is over, but training continues of course. And we are already looking forward to the next events: on 9 May, we want to celebrate the end of our season together with a meal and bowling, and we are also looking forward to the upcoming 12th Team Munich Summer Sports Festival, where we are also at the start.

VI Table tennis

Another season in the league is over and we realise that there is light and shade, ying and yang, ping and pong. The second men's team finished the season with an 8:1 win, but unfortunately still got relegated. But there is also a promotion to celebrate: the second women's team finished the season in first place in the table and was promoted to the Bezirksoberliga! The first women's team narrowly avoided relegation. Both teams are now playing in the Bezirksoberliga.

Team München Tischtennis is represented in the league with a total of four women's and two men's teams.

VIII. Basketball

At the end of April, eight players skipped training - they accepted the invitation from FC Bayern Basketball and attended the league match against Rostock, which was part of the Helpside project and promotes inclusion and diversity. The Team Munich basketball players were also able to set up an information table there and draw attention to our club.

IX. Rugby

On 18 April, the players of the Munich Monks travelled to the Association league matchday to Lauf. As only parts of the various teams had travelled, they all joined together on site to form two teams and played an 80-minute game against each other. With a final score of 22:60, the team that included the Munich Monks had to admit defeat in the end; nevertheless, all players had a great day, were able to gain a lot of experience and celebrate the rugby spirit. The evening ended at the Shamrock with a joint public viewing of the Women's Six Nations. What a great rugby Saturday.

After this matchday, the Munich Monks are still in a fantastic third place in the Verbandsliga, in which a total of 17 teams compete.

The Munich Monks players, who played for SG Bayern II in the Bundesliga had to prove themselves in the league semi-final against Germania List from Hanover on 11 April. They lost 3:95 and will soon continue with the match for third place in the league against Rottweil.

X. Streetboys

Unfortunately, April did not bring Team München Streetboys the success they had hoped for - two narrow defeats left them hanging their heads. Nevertheless, they are confident going into the last games of the season in May. Furthermore, the planning for the Gay Games 2026 ahead. The team will take part in the 7 vs 7 tournament in Valencia in July.

TV tip: Our streetboys Michael Weinzierl and Christoph Hertzsch (in his role as BFV representative) appeared on the programme „Hauptsache Sport“ on Oberpfalz TV in April and discussed the challenges faced by homosexual footballers in rural areas. Take a look in the media centre:
