In addition to marking the route, we will also be participating with our information stand. Supporters/Volunteers are very welcome! Here is the registration link: https://nuudel.digitalcourage.de/HCVkrignksEkyNcd

Thank you, we look forward to seeing you! (Further details about Run for Life below)

Team Munich at the Olympiapark summer party (Photo below)

At the Body-Mind Theme Weekend (23 August) at the Olympic Park Summer Festival was Team München e.V. in cooperation with the Isar pike represented for the first time with an information stand. Located directly between the Olympic swimming pool and the Olympic Hall – equipped with a tent, mini table tennis table, football goals and badminton – we wanted to show the presence of our LGBTQIA+* community at a non-typical queer event as one of the largest queer sports clubs in Germany.

According to all participants and supporters, we succeeded very well in this endeavour. We received a very positive response and were also able to have some nice conversations with visitors.

Once again, a big thank you to all the volunteers and members of Isarhechte for your support. The Munich AIDS charity was also represented with its own stand. We are already looking forward to next year.

III. Handball

After the fantastic tournament at the EuroGames in Lyon, everyday life has now returned for the handball players. Due to the summer holidays, we can currently only train on Wednesdays, but we have also had lots of experiences outside of sport. On 16 August, we met up for a joint team evening at our sponsor München72, where we enjoyed a lovely evening with delicious food.

We will also be supporting Team Munich on 23 August.Information stand at the Olympic Park-Summer party and took over in the evening Bar shift at the Sub. We had a lot of fun doing it, and now it's time to start preparing for the season.

Do you know someone who would fit into our group? We are currently looking for new players and a new coach. For more information about us, training times, halls and more, please visit our page.

V. Rugby

A lot has happened at the Munich Monks over the past month.

On 3 August, there was a general meeting, where not only social media figures, training participation and finances were discussed, but also a new board was elected: Chris is considered to be Head of Division supported by Michaela and Jan as deputy division proposals. Together, they will hold this office for two years and are motivated and full of ideas to move the team forward.

On 9 August, two players from the Munich Monks took part in the SG Bavaria made their debut and played in a friendly match against the visiting Canadian team Mississauga RC. The match ended 27:10 in favour of SG Bayern, and afterwards there was a barbecue with the Canadians and a pub crawl.

In addition, Munich celebrated Monks on 16 August birthday with a barbecue after the regular training session at the Anton Fingerle Centre and a touch game for anyone who wanted to join in. Friends and fans of the team were also invited, so despite the unsettled weather, the afternoon was a great success.

VI. New to Team Munich: Nia – exercising the body with joy

Nia is a holistic movement concept that combines dance, martial arts and forms of body therapy.

Nia gets you moving, strengthens your body, lets you breathe deeply and gives you new energy. You feel more intense and discover your range of motion.

Short, repetitive sequences of steps to music alternate with guided, free parts. In class, Nia teacher Chantal dances everything before and with you. You can playfully adapt the training to your physical constitution, your fitness level and your needs.

You dance barefoot in clothes that encourage movement.

For anyone who wants to bring more joy into their lives through exercise - regardless of age or previous experience.

Just give it a try!

The workshops will be held on Wednesday 8th, 15th and 22nd October from 7 to 8 p.m. held.

The Queerspiegel section of the Tagesspiegel newspaper reports:

At the end of July, the World Darts Federation (WDF) announced that trans women would not be allowed to participate in women's and girls' tournaments. This was preceded by a massive transphobic hate campaign against trans player Noa-Lynn van Leuven, which included death threats, during the World Darts Championship in December and January.

However, the sex assigned at birth is not decisive for the WDF in the case of trans men. Trans men „may participate in WDF ranking tournaments and cups in the ‚women‘ category (according to their sex registered at birth) if they have not taken or are not currently taking androgenising substances such as hormone treatments,“ according to the new regulation. However, all trans persons are allowed to participate in tournaments in the open category.
