June 2026

Even though the league is already going into its summer break, June is the busiest month for Team Munich.

On Wednesday, 3 June, we will be at the LeTra premises in Angertorstraße 3 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Magic Bar Tour of Sub e.V. and are expecting around 600 participants. Shortly afterwards, from 12 to 14 June, our Summer Sports Festival (details below). On Saturday, 20 June, Team Munich will be at the 5. Lesbian street party will be represented with a stand on Stephansplatz from 2 pm.

The crowning finale of the season is the CSD Munich. We will be there this year with an information stand on Friday and Saturday (26 and 27 June). The expected location is in Ludwigsstraße between Schellingstraße and Geschwister-Scholl-Platz. On CSD Saturday, we will also be represented with a truck at the parade.

At the same time, the Gay Games XII where athletes from Munich will once again be hunting for medals.

From the divisions

Handball: Even after the season is over, the handball team remains sporty. In addition to our training sessions, we met on 9 May for a End-of-season party in our home arena and looked back on the past season. As is tradition, the player with the highest training participation was crowned - once again it was Sören, who was also on the pitch for 14 out of 15 league matches, more often than anyone else. Then there was delicious Vietnamese food, followed by bowling (photo below). Some people also tried karaoke, and we ended the evening in the Glockenbachviertel.

We are all very much looking forward to the 12th Team Munich Summer Sports Festival. On 13 June from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., we will be holding the Handball Open Day event. If you already have the date in your diary, you should know that it will not take place in Ried, but in our training hall in Ramersdorf-Perlach (Kirchseeoner Str. 7, 81669 Munich). On the day there will be training sessions, a joint lunch break and a game in the afternoon. Anyone over the age of 16 can take part and is welcome to bring friends, partners, colleagues or other interested parties. We look forward to seeing you!

Streetboys: A high-scoring May (17:16, in three games) gave the spectators and the Streetboys a varied and exciting match. Last phase of the season with two defeats and one win. The 12:0 home win against FC Viktoria München II was the highest ever documented victory in the official BFV league. The 25/26 season ended with the match against FC Wacker München III on 31 May, and the Streetboys will go straight into the preparation phase for the 2026 Gay Games in Valencia.

To the German Diversity Day On 19 May, Sky Sport News reported nationwide on both football divisions of Team Munich, including interviews with Anh and Christoph. You can watch the report under this link once again.

Rugby: On 9 May, the time had come: the Association league match day in Erlangen was on the agenda for the Munich Monks rugby players. The Munich Monks are currently in a sensational fourth place in the table, in which 17 teams are represented. Once again, the matches were played in pools, as many teams were unable to travel to the tournament in their entirety, allowing all players to gain experience.

The Munich Monks team travelled with ten players and was thus able to form the majority of a team and at the same time make good use of the joint training and the fact that the players were well-rehearsed with each other. Erlangen played together with Lauf and Coburg, while the Munich Monks teamed up with Fürstenfeldbruck and Black n'Blue. In the end, the hosts prevailed 33:0. All in all, the Munich Monks can look back on another wonderful day of rugby and were able to gain a lot of experience and fond memories. The next match day is on 13 June at the 1860 Munich team!

Table Tennis: On 21 May, the Oberschleißheim District Conference of the Bavarian Table Tennis Association e.V. took place (BTTV). Of course, we were also represented as a division. Particularly exciting: a motion was passed to change the playing system in the district classes A to E from the Werner Scheffler system previously used to the federal system from the coming 2026/2027 season (38 votes in favour, 28 against). Although the district assembly cannot formally pass this resolution, the vote will be included in the implementation regulations by the district board. The federal system is characterised by the following: already widespread and established in the higher leagues of the district, shorter match days with an average of two to two and a half hours (instead of a maximum of 14 matches, only a maximum of ten matches).

Tennis: At the end of April, our team travelled to Ampflwang in Upper Austria to attend this year's Training camp to complete. From 23 to 26 April, the focus was on tennis, team spirit and shared experiences in consistently perfect tennis weather.

We had an intensive and varied training programme on Friday and Saturday: In small groups, we worked specifically on our technique and game under the guidance of coach Thomas. The programme was supplemented by free playing time on several courts with singles and doubles matches. In addition to the sporting focus, there was plenty of room for relaxation and alternative activities - whether in the gym, spa, pool or on the padel and beach volleyball courts.

Another highlight was the „Fun Rally“ on Saturday afternoon, where team spirit and creativity were required. The successful finale was the atmospheric „Austria Night“ in traditional costume, including a show and socialising. Immediately after the „Austria Night“ play, we joined the Aldiana staff on stage and performed the club dance - with a lot of commitment, humour and a great atmosphere.

On Sunday, after a few last strokes on the tennis court and a joint breakfast, we returned home - with many new impressions, sporting progress and, above all, a strengthened community.
