Who is the Basic & Advanced course for?

For all those who want to try their first dance steps, refresh forgotten dance skills and learn new steps and figures in a relaxed atmosphere, we offer a two-stage training programme.

The basics course is designed as an ongoing basic programme (basic steps plus the most important figures in all dances). The evening is therefore not only suitable for classic beginners, but also for people who would like to try a change of lead or generally dance more and repeat the basics.
We dance all the relevant dances right from the start: slow waltz, Viennese waltz, tango, quickstep and slowfox, plus cha-cha, rumba, samba and jive, as well as salsa and, of course, disco fox.

Those who are back in the swing of things will get their money's worth in the advanced courses. Here we show numerous other figures and give more tips on how to dance better.

What do you do with standard intensive?

This is the right place to get to know the standard dances (Slow Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, Quickstep and Slowfox) better and to focus more on technique and posture than is possible in the group programmes on Tuesdays/Fridays. Our trainer Philipp will get you in shape and have plenty of further knowledge ready for you to make you look (even!) more beautiful and fluid on the dance floor.

The programme as such has been around for some time - but some people may have had respect for it because for a long time it was exclusively associated with ballroom dancing. To make this clear: Those who use "Standard Intensive" do not have to go to competitions later on. This training offers an intensive exploration of the standard dances and is ideal for amateur dancers who want to keep it a hobby, but also for couples who want to start competing.

What does free training mean?

Free training means that you can practise all the beautiful figures, turns and swings that you have learnt in group training on your own several days a week. Please let us know in advance if you are coming to free practice for the first time so that we can show you everything you need to know.

What does Join-in Wednesday mean?

Join-in Wednesday is an extra for our members. Once a month, we provide a change from the regular programme: whether line dancing (from country to pop music), Bachata, New Vogue or West Coast Swing: This Wednesday is a „treat“ and the cherry on the dance cake.

What else do you offer?

Once a month on Sundays, we organise our dance café, a public dance event for members, guests and the curious, where you can dance and chat in a relaxed atmosphere. The Zunfthaus team also serves drinks and delicious food.

Our Tango Argentino section also meets once a month for a sociable dance evening, the so-called milonga, i.e. dancing together without lessons with a buffet and good wine.

As part of the Team Munich Summer Sports Festival, we also offer taster workshops, e.g. Salsa or Tango Argentino

We are also a team away from the dance floor: we like to go to the beer garden with our members, go hiking or meet up at the CSD.

What happens during the school holidays?

School holidays are not dance holidays for us! During the longer summer or Christmas holidays, there is sometimes a break or a reduced programme, but most of the time our programmes continue as normal. All holiday activities take place in the Stielerstraße primary school.

Do you dance in competitions?

We currently have no active ballroom dancers in the club. If you are interested in ballroom dancing, we will provide you with all the support you need to take part in exciting national and international competitions.
